Hey sports lovers,

Kobe and his mom are in a huge disagreement.  I guess a disagreement is an understatement.  I read the below story and wondered why a mom would want to sell or auction off her son’s things. Please understand it is not my intention to judge her but just attempting to make sense of it all..

My son the ‘Black Mumba” …wow I would be so proud and would never sale any of things but again I am a Laker Lover.. I have loved the Lakers since I was 13 years old.  Now I will not tell you folks how many years that has been.  Smile, but it has been a lot of years.

Read the story and let me know what you think.. Image

CAMDEN, N.J. — Kobe Bryant is in a court battle to try to keep his mother from auctioning off mementos from his high school days in Pennsylvania and his early years with the Los Angeles Lakers.

A New Jersey auction house filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Camden on Thursday for the right to sell the stuff after the NBA star’s lawyers wrote the firm telling it to cancel a planned June auction.

The disagreement is a high-value, high-profile version of a question many families face: Can Mom get rid of the stuff a grown child left at home?

Pamela Bryant intends to sell: the NBA star’s jerseys, practice gear and sweatsuits from Lower Merion High School; varsity letters; a trophy for being the outstanding player at the 1995 Adidas ABCD basketball camp; and a signed basketball from the 2000 NBA championship game.

And then there are rings, for the 1996 Pennsylvania high school championship, a pair that the Lakers made for Bryant’s parents for the 2000 NBA championship and one from the 1998 NBA All-Star Game.

According to court filings, Pamela Bryant struck a deal in January with Goldin Auctions in Berlin, N.J., which earlier this year sold a rare Honus Wagner baseball card for a record $2.1 million.

She got $450,000 up front, which she intended to use for a new home in Nevada.

A source told ESPN that Kobe Bryant offered to pay his mother up $250,000 toward a home she wanted.

She refused, saying she wanted $450,000. When Kobe Bryant turned her down, the source said that unbeknownst to Kobe Bryant she struck a deal to get the $450,000 advanced through the auction company.

The source said Kobe Bryant was unaware that his memorabilia was being auctioned until hours before the auction company released the news of the sale.

Sources close to Kobe Bryant confirmed to that before learning about the auction through news reports, the Lakers star has given his parents “millions of dollars in financial assistance” throughout his 17-year career.

Bryant’s parents decided to sell his high school memorabilia without his consent in order to purchase an additional home, sources said. Bryant offered to buy a house for his parents, but they wanted a larger one.

In its court filings, Goldin Auctions says Pamela Bryant told the auction house that she asked her son five years ago what he wanted to do with the items that were in her home.

“Kobe Bryant indicated to Pamela Bryant that the items belonged to her and that he had no interest in them,” the auction house’s attorneys wrote. So she put them in a $1,500-per-month New Jersey storage unit.

The challenge came Tuesday when Goldin Auctions sent a news release announcing the auction. By day’s end, Kobe Bryant’s lawyer had sent a cease-and-desist letter telling the auction house to call off the sale and return the items to him.

Kenneth Goldin, owner of the auction house, says he can’t cancel the auction because he’s already advanced $450,000 to Bryant’s mother and put money into advertising the auction.

Kobe Bryant’s lawyer Mark Campbell said in a statement, “Mr. Bryant’s personal property has ended up in the possession of someone who does not lawfully own it. We look forward to resolving this legal matter through the legal system.”

Bryant has had a sometimes icy relationship with his mother and father, Joe “Jellybean” Bryant, a former pro basketball player who is now coaching in Thailand.

Information from’s Darren Rovell,’s Dave McMenamin and The Associated Press was used in this report.

ImageHello Folks,

I wanna discuss something that is long over due. We spend so much time feeling sorry for ourselves.  I mean really accepting the victim’s role. Allowing whatever wrong done to us to really pull us down.  I know about this much to well.  I have recently experienced something that has rocked my faith in GOD and also my trust in mankind.  I have been crying, screaming, and feeling sorry for myself.

I have decided to get up an live everyday..I mean live..I do not need permission from anyone.  I really don’t care what anyone else says or how they see me.. Why don’t I? Well, none of these judgmental people have a heaven or hell to place my soul in for eternity.  That being said..

I know they were talking about you at church..pretending to care but just trying to get more information. They just wanted to have something to gossip about. I know they were spreading your misfortune at work-acting like they care that your spouse was unfaithful..I know they talk about the way you dress or the way you wear your hair. I know they lied to get you to give money and they have never paid you back.  Believe me as I type this, I hear it all..So your past is spotty, you have been in prison one will hire you..Your father is not, or was not there for you..O yes, they were talking about the money that you don’t have..laughing about you behind your back..

No one will hire you..start your own business..your father isn’t a great mom or dad when given the chance..they are talking about you..their life is a mess-that’s why they have time to keep up with your life..the people at the church seem fake..they are..the church is made for misfits..they just don’t know -that you know -that they are misfits..they tricked you into giving them money..God said the we would be the lender and not the borrower..REJOICE!!!

You feel like the victim (hmmm)-that’s what he(Satan) wants you feel like ..the victim. He wants you to feel powerless over your life. Over the choices you make or have made.

He is A LIAR!!

You have complete control. Those who are talking about you..look at them NOW and laugh at them. hmm-I don’t hear you laughing..still not laughing..Do I need to start telling jokes.. Did you not read the book..Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth!!!

Take the energy that they are using to try to stop you and turn it around and use it to propel yourself into-what-

Will it be easy? Of course not..Anything worth having is worth fighting for!!

My word to you

I wonder did anyone else know when and how black history began.  I was searching for the next person to feature in my Black History Month peice and discover the below piece.  I was shocked because in all of my many years of education and also educating other..we were never taught about Dr. Woodson.   I discovered the origin of the Black History  by accident.  Is that sad? Our country really needs to focus on teaching the young about the many attributes of the Black American. Someone should do something about. Yes, I will.

Let’s start here…

Read below and discover the origin of BLACK HISTORY.

by Elissa Haney
Dr. Carter G. Woodson

Americans have recognized black history annually since 1926, first as “Negro History Week” and later as “Black History Month.” What you might not know is that black history had barely begun to be studied-or even documented-when the tradition originated. Although blacks have been in America at least as far back as colonial times, it was not until the 20th century that they gained a respectable presence in the history books.

Blacks Absent from History Books

We owe the celebration of Black History Month, and more importantly, the study of black history, to Dr. Carter G. Woodson. Born to parents who were former slaves, he spent his childhood working in the Kentucky coal mines and enrolled in high school at age twenty. He graduated within two years and later went on to earn a Ph.D. from Harvard. The scholar was disturbed to find in his studies that history books largely ignored the black American population-and when blacks did figure into the picture, it was generally in ways that reflected the inferior social position they were assigned at the time.

Established Journal of Negro History

Woodson, always one to act on his ambitions, decided to take on the challenge of writing black Americans into the nation’s history. He established the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (now called the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History) in 1915, and a year later founded the widely respected Journal of Negro History. In 1926, he launched Negro History Week as an initiative to bring national attention to the contributions of black people throughout American history.

Woodson chose the second week of February for Negro History Week because it marks the birthdays of two men who greatly influenced the black American population, Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. However, February has much more than Douglass and Lincoln to show for its significance in black American history. For example:

This is really a form of racism that is hardly ever challenged. When someone lies and says that a man of color (Hispanic, Asian or Black) is arrested and no evidence is available but the man is tried and found guilty anyway. The root of the issue is the color of his skin and the lack of a serious check and balance system that should clearly expose any injustice.

Read below about a young man that has decided not to be a spectator but is making changes. He is working closely with the Innocence Project to free men of color who were incarcerated in error.

ImageCraig Watkins

Innocence Project /Human Rights Watch

One of the major issues civil rights issues of our time is the incarceration of disproportionate numbers of Black and Latino men (over 1 million of the current 2 million plus populating America’s prisons). The Innocence  Project, co-founded by Attorney Peter Neufeld and Attorney Barry Scheck of “Trial of the Century Fame,” has been at the forefront of demanding DNA evidence be used to exonerate those wrongfully imprisoned. Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins, the only African American DA in the state of Texas was elected in 2007. Since then he’s partnered with the Innocence Project to overturn over 20 wrongful convictions. Alongside The Innocence Project, Human Rights Watch has brought necessary attention to U.S. policy regarding disproportionate targeting of Black men for long prison sentences. Its 2008 report, “Targeting Blacks,” documents racial disparities among drug offenders sent to prison.

Today we stopped by this hotel named Hotel Duval…it is absolute perfect for our celebration.  How much? We don’t know but we have agreed to pray. Ephesians 3.20 is our favorite. Read below and you will see why.. We both want to have a very nice venue for the celebration. So  if you decide to pray for us.. Pray Ephesians 3.20…

Ephesians 3:20-21

Amplified Bible (AMP)

20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]21 To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

I am such a people person, I would love for you all to be there but he is the exact opposite. So now we began the guess list. This is the hard part but it must be done.

Since I am a very mature bride(lol) I have a lot of married friends. How do I choose. I have chosen my oldest and dearest friend to be my Matron of Honor.  I will be untraditional with two Maids of Honor and a host of bride maids, a flower girl, and ring bearer. My three sons will give me away.  Really..LOL Yep..

Colors: Purple and Black and ?

For those who have been reading alone, you know that he has the chocolate colored skinned that I love. Tall with a broad chest..hmmm  lol. Saying all that, I wanted to dress him in a white suite w/purple accents.  Noooo! He refused and we now have him wearing a black Tux with purple vest or cumber bum.  Okay, I wanted to wear a purple gown..I know people..I know.. It was just apart of my fantasy He has reminded gently that we both have dreams. He simply said, baby I fantasized in my bride being in a white dress. I pushed back a bit but eventually realized that this is the perfect time to walk in compromise. So I did..

Searching for the perfect gown for my full curvy figure. No, the answer to your question-will go on a diet before the wedding. No again I answer.  I will not be starving myself to fit into the gown. The GOWN will be designed to fit me.  My hubby to b like meat on his rib so I am just fine. LOL!!

Well that’s about I have in the way of updates..

Tune in for more Black History Month!!

The Topic of the Day: Marriage Material

I asked folks what makes a partner marriage material and read below to see what they said. I honestly believe that the things that single out a person from among the others would be things like:

Character-being a person of integrity; someone you can trust not only with your heart but your future

Loyalty-someone who will be faithful to you in good and bad times

Family minded-someone who is willing to place the relationship in the highest of priorities

Financial soundness-Can or will this person support the family above themselves?

These are a few of the things that come to mind when I think of someone being a marriage partner. These are also things that I did not think about when I was a young girl and I decided to marry. I must admit no one had ever even given me a list or suggested that I make one.

I think it is important to keep in mind that not only will this person affect your heart but your finances, and also your health if they are not faithful.

Here’s what some of our viewers had to say:

Bethany Morris I think there ability to love and take care of their family. Their heart has to be good.
Calvin Bell Now that I will be tuned in for!!!….
Sanders McElroy if she can put up with me and still love me with all my faults.. thats good marriage material
Sanders McElroy and she has to believe in God
So tune in for updates on what the viewers consider marriage material..Choose carefully..this is your future you are planning..
    Coyfee out til next time..
    Love Ya

Thank you everyone!!!!

I would like to thank you all for reading the words that have given to me..I am in total amazement the many people in the many countries that have chosen to share your time with me..Shout outs go to the below countries for their support!!! Today’s topic:

Dating -Men or women with children. Let’s see what our followers had to say about this topic? This is suppose to be a page for guys to write how they feel but since many women have desired to chime in..I have welcomed them..

 Responses from my Facebook followers
  • Coyfee Dating guys and girls with children is tomorrow’s topic..Folks tell me how you feel about dating guys and girls with children in the house..How would you handle it if your partner did not get alone with your children? Talk to me??
      Sanders McElroy likes this.
Sanders McElroy U gotta let the children know not to get involved with grown folks business
    •  Thanks Sanders..nice to have you join us..
Do you mind if I post your response in tomorrow’s blog
      Sanders McElroy I don’t mind.
Bethany Morris Coming from a person who has had step parents I will say that the kids need to learn to respect the adults in the situation but the adults need to respect the children too because they have been there longer and are not going anywhere so the adults don’t need to act like children when something doesn’t go their way and the children need to understand that the adults are new at it too… just the way I felt when I went through it with my parents..
Bethany Morris And to answer your question if I felt he was the one for me I would explain to both him and the kids that one this is my relationship and I want him here and two that these are my kids so if there is a problem tell me first b4 you do anything and I will address the issue..
I personally agree with both of our followers. They are both right. However, in the midst of attempting to bond to someone that often seems prepared for parenting, most would rather leave the partner and keep looking. As a single parent myself, I have left many relationships because the guy did not seem to be parent material. The stress of being in a relationship with someone that does not have the same values that I have (regarding) the children was far more than I could handle.
Now I am in a similar situation, often wondering what steps to take to attempt to create this wonderful imagined family. None seem to come to mind, I have teenagers which seems to be more difficult in general. The guy seemed to expect these perfect little people that acted like adults when sometimes he acted like a really big kid himself.
So tune in to find out how this real life soap opera evolves…

I was doing research for a paper and some how came across this site which talked in detail about women (Polyandry) dating multiple partners. The strange thing is that they all live in the same residence.  I wonder how other guys felt about this type of dating style.  So I interviewed one to see what guys had to say. I also included a brief definition to help explain

(disclaimer: Coyfeetalksitup does not promote this dating style. I still believe in the old fashion male pursuing female-female plays hard to get…smile)

Polyandry (Greekpoly—many, andrasman) is a form of polygamy whereby a woman takes two or more husbands at the same time. In zoology, polyandry is a mating system involving a female and two or more males. Most broadly, polyandry refers to sexual relations with multiple males, within or without marriage. Polyandry is contrasted with polygyny, involving one male and two or more females. Polyandry is also distinct from group marriage, involving plural participants of each sex.

Coyfee says:

“Your woman wants to date more than one guy at a time..She comes to you and tells you “I have been thinking about dating so so also..How do you handle this?”

 Guy A   replies

I personally wouldn’t continue on with that relationship. Whats the purpose of dating multiple partners? That means there’s a lack of something and the woman is going elsewhere to fill that void. Whether its feelings, sex or financial, but something must be missing. But this is just my opinion.

Do you have an opinion? If so let me know… This page will be about different topics and how men feel about them.  If you are a guy and have a topic you would like to see or

Coyfee on her way to spiritual side of things..see ya there….

Hello Guys,

My beloved eldest son would like to take his jab at blogging..Give him some love!!

One of the many things that people tend to go through are struggles with cheating and the affect that it has on relationships. For example, like how men and women get blamed for cheating.  Even though nothing is going on..but the ones who are actually cheating never get blamed. I believe that’s because the one cheating know’s how to blame the other one. This seems to keep the cheater looking like he or she is actually the victim even tho they are actually the one being cheated on.

Know this type of accusation all to well!!! What are your thoughts??
